Arsenal defeated Everton 2–0 at the Emirates Stadium on October 24. Ezri Konsa and Gabriel scored, Everton’s official report confirms. Reuters reports that the victory drew Arsenal level on points with Manchester City after the leaders’ defeat at Aston Villa.

Everton’s account places Konsa’s goal inside seven minutes, following a Martin Odegaard corner and a close-range scramble involving Jordan Pickford and the crossbar. Gabriel later added the second. The sequence makes set-play pressure part of the story without reducing the entire performance to one corner routine.

The completed result records no Everton goal. Reuters’ account highlights Gabriel contributing at both ends. That is a stronger description of the night than simply listing him as a scorer, but broader defensive judgments still need the chances conceded and the match context rather than the score alone.

Drawing level on points does not automatically establish sole leadership because goal difference and other ranking rules can matter. The immediate conclusion is that Arsenal used City’s dropped points to close the gap. Whether the pressure becomes a lasting change depends on the next fixtures, not on declaring a title race resolved in October.
